A Doylestown wedding venue rich in history with beautiful views

Nestled in Bucks County Pennsylvania, Washington Crossing Inn blends 18th-century charm with 21st-century conveniences. The inn marks the spot where General George Washington and his troops assembled before the historic crossing of the Delaware River in 1776. Located right along the river, the venue borders the Washington Crossing Historic Park which offers not only serene views of the Delaware River, but also a stroll trough time as you explore Washington’s personal quarters, gardens, and boat house.

Violet & Matt stayed at the Inn to celebrate their wedding with their closest friends and family. The couple said their vows at The Olde Church of St. Andrew in Newtown, PA, just a short drive down the road. Followed by the prettiest cocktail hour and reception at Washington Crossing Inn.

Violet & Matt married in late August, and luckily the weather was absolutely perfect for their wedding day! The Inn’s courtyard doubles as a ceremony and outdoor cocktail hour space. The tall trees, clean grass and white fencing made for a STUNNING afternoon cocktail hour. Though we didn’t use them, I love that this space also has rows of twinkle lights for moments at twilight and late night portraits.

Couple’s portraits were very important to Matt & Violet so we spent some time before and after their ceremony taking photos at the Washington Crossing Historical park just across the street from the venue. This allowed the couple ample time with each other and with their guests, as they were able to be present for all of their cocktail hour.

After frolicking in the golden light along the Delaware river bank, we headed back to the inn for a heartfelt reception!
