Philadelphia’s most unique art gallery wedding venue
Philly has some pretty cool venues, but none of them have a unique artsy charm quite like this one. Located just outside the city, The Duke Sculpture Garden at Dixon Mansion is an unforgettable art gallery turned wedding venue.
At every opportunity, Alison & John have found a way to infuse their personalities into their wedding experience. After getting engaged in Portugal, the couple reached out to me to book their fall wedding in their hometown of Philadelphia. I was ecstatic! We got to work right away planning their winter engagement session at a location that felt just as unique and historic as their wedding venue. Take a quick look at their cozy & romantic engagement session at the historic Baldwin’s Book Barn in West Chester, PA.
Alison & John wanted their wedding day to feel natural, fun, and down-to-earth. Their authenticity made capturing the day effortless and fun! This is a couple determined to create positive memories with the people they love most, and that’s just what they did.
Thankfully, their wedding fell on a picturesque fall day, so we planned for an outdoor ceremony in the garden. That meant that the indoor ceremony space was freed up for Alison to get into her dress with her maid and matron of honor.
Followed by an intimate first look with her soon-to-be husband.
After Alison & John’s emotional first look in the fireplace room, we headed outside to explore the mansion’s gardens and grounds. Couple’s portraits were important to A&J, which is why they decided to do a first look followed by their alone session, wedding party photos, and family portraits.
The couple chose Grow Wild Studios to design their wedding florals. Alison’s bouquet and John’s pocket florals surely took the cake on their wedding day, but their wedding party florals and reception designs were a close second. I absolutely loved the way Grow Wild designed the reception tables in the venue’s on-site art gallery. I simply could not take enough photos!
One of the many ways A&J created heartfelt and intentional moments for themselves on their wedding day was to privately sign their marriage license with their MOH & BM, while their guests poured hot apple cider and settled into their seats for the sculpture garden ceremony at golden hour.
JAM Catering not only catered the event, but also coordinated the day. They were a pleasure to work with - greeting myself and the couple as we arrived and making sure we had everything we needed. Not to mention, the food was amazing!
After mingling at cocktail hour until the sun set, Alison & John’s guests headed to the Duke Gallery to enjoy the reception food and festivities.
Cheers to Alison & John! Thank you for your trust and authenticity.
