Free-spirited engagement session in Bethlehem, PA
When we met for their engagement session, I could tell that Jen & Chad were excited but a little bit nervous. I met them at the parking lot across from Illick’s Mill Park in Bethlehem. As we crossed the street and headed into the park, I could tell they weren’t quite sure what to expect. So to shake things up, I started with some silly, movement-based prompts to help them loosen up and set the tone for a fun and care-free engagement session in the sunshine.
Once they were feeling loosened up and smiling ear to ear, we explored the park. There are so many things that I love about this location. In the spring, the grass turns into a meadow of wildflowers amongst the old, tall trees. As you sit in the flowers, you can hear the sound of the creek and children playing in the distance. It’s absolutely magical.
Regardless of what time of year you visit the park, you’ll always find great portrait spots near the waterfall. The old stone structures and bridge littered with lovers’ locks is a site to behold! Jennifer and Chad actually left a lock here early in their relationship. Every couple years, the city of Bethlehem remove the locks to make room for more. So their lock is no longer there. But we pretended that it was and celebrated their love in the place where it all began.
Congratulations Jennifer & Chad! I can’t wait to capture your wedding this fall.
